Ear Nose Throat Screening/ Health Package

EAR NOSE THROAT ENT HEALTH SCREENING PACKAGE

The ear, nose and throat are intimately related. As the clinic is able to offer the full range of ENT services for new-borns to adults, we have had many busy professionals and families request for ENT screening and health check packages. The clinic is pleased to now offer 2 packages. Patients and their families can now book for a 1.5 to 3 hour time slot together that allows for a complete ENT health check package within one visit, within our one-stop clinic setting.

PACKAGE A (1.5 HOUR)
    • ENT doctor consult
    • ENT doctor examination ears, nose and throat (including microscopic ear examination & ear cleaning if needed)
    • Flexible nose endoscopy – nasal spray decongestant and local anaesthetic with patient awake, no pain, 5 minutes, visualises the anterior and posterior nose and nasopharynx, the throat, larynx and vocal cords
    • Where required:

A.  Allergy test for airborne or food allergens with counselling on avoidance measures - Skin prick test on skin or RAST test with blood sampling B.  Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and biopsy of lumps/ tumors C.  Home-based sleep study instructions and equipment to patient for snoring/ sleep apnea

PACKAGE B (2 HOUR)

AND

  • HEARING/ TINNITUS TEST

By professional audiologists in sound-proof rooms. Age-appropriate hearing tests could include tympanogram, pure tone audiometry (visual, play, adult), otoacoustic emission, awake or sedated 1-2 hour auditory brainstem response full test, auditory steady state response test, loudness discomfort level test, tinnitus assessment (Young children would need longer time for testing)

PACKAGE C (3 HOUR)
  • PACKAGE B

AND

  • HEARING AID & BONE ANCHORED OR COCHLEAR IMPLANTS/ TINNITUS AID EVALUATION/TRIAL

Patients will try a few different models and brands of hearing aids and tinnitus aids, in quiet and noise situations, and discuss with the audiologists and ENT doctor on what works best for them AND/ OR

  • GIDDINESS/ VERTIGO TEST

For complex cases, patients may need vestibulonystamography (VNG), VHIT, VEMP testing to differentiate central and ear related causes of giddiness and vertigo, and to identify subtypes of ear related giddiness accurately.

IMAGING (XRAY, CT SCAN, MRI)

Only if required, will imaging be ordered. Usually possible within the same day except for very young children who may require fasting for iv sedation for CT/ MRI).
